Well taken care of by every genuinely cheerful member of the staff. Dr. Lisch diagnosed the issue I have with my foot quickly, told me what to expect, and how to best take care of myself. No nonsense, highly professional, and wonderful caring atmosphere.

Problem: Ignored wound, blood infection, spinal infection, unbelievable pain, spinal surgery, bed, walker, crutches, cane, limp, neuropathy in feet, legs, pelvic area.
My doctors at BSW were amazing. Dr. Theoklisto (Infectious Disease, Lakeway) and Dr. Desai (Surgeon at BSW in Temple) and his team saved my life. Their nutritionist talked me into eating every meal. Even the janitor was kind and uplifting, making me laugh as he cleaned my room.
My pelvic floor physical therapist is Elizabeth Levins at Spero Rehab on the campus of St Augustine School for Health Sciences on La Crosse in Austin. It’s easy to get to; easy to park. So far, in our 45-minute sessions twice a week, this is what she has done for me:
Besides pelvic floor therapy, my favorite thing is the Visceral Mobilization, cupping, and dry needling work Lisa does. It caused me to go from 10-12 awful surprise bowel movements a day to 1-4 amazing bm’s. My IBS is gone. My lower back stopped locking up. I can lie on my left side without leg pain. My balance has improved dramatically. I have only a tiny limp when I’m tired, instead of flopping my foot forward. I no longer drag my leg or foot. The retraining of my pelvic area has made my life 100% better. Lisa and I work in a private room; I could never be as open with her as I am and make the progress I have in an open PT environment. I’m excited to start orthopedic PT with Lisa, because I still walk in a wavy pattern. No matter how soft a seat was, it was like sitting on a cobblestone toilet seat, then a rail fence. Now it’s like sitting on a ping pong ball. Another of her patients and I even fan-girl’d her in the hall outside her treatment room.
Then I met Dr. Nilin Rao, my podiatrist (who is so very gentle). He uses MLS Laser Therapy that has banished patches of neuropathy from day one. (It feels like velvet brushing across my skin.) The big patches were on the back of my thighs and the side of one calf. Before the laser treatment, I felt like I was walking on a hotdog on the outside of my foot and smooth river rocks on the rest. Now, no hotdog and more patches of recovery on the bottom of my foot. I still need my Gabapentin, but my nerve regeneration had stalled until I started seeing Dr. Rao and his assistant Stacy who does my treatments. I’m finished with treatment but improvement is still happening.
